Week 2

Timing and Spacing
Soft Ball

Hard Ball (deflated Basket ball)

Following from last weeks lesson, we started to look at the graph editor some more.
We used this to look at our timing and spacing, as well as creating the arcs in our ball bounce. The problem we had was that the ball had no sense of weight. It was a simple shape bouncing up and down.

For the soft ball, on the graph editor the arcs are more higher and the curves look more smoother. By adjusting the spacing of the key frames you change the timing of the ball to allowing it to have weight.
I found it quite easy using the graph editor because it was easy to manipulate the arcs to get a smooth bounce from the ball. It also allows you to add wight by having larger arcs for a more bouncier ball.

For the hard ball, you can see that the arcs are a lot more steeper, picking up pace at the beginning, but the heavier weight of the ball means the arcs are more closer together and shorter in length.
At first it was a bit difficult to make the ball thud a lot more than bounce, but after a while i shortened the arcs a huge amount to make it seem as though it was a less bouncier ball.
