Animatic storyboard

This is my part of the animatic storyboard. My part of the project is 0:00-0:23 seconds long. It was influenced by my research from the Disney film Mulan. I did the reveal writing all in After Effects and it was pretty fun coming across tutorials on doing this.

After meeting back up with the group, this is what the new storyboards look like for 0:00 - 0:23. They include the direction of the characters movement.

Mood Board

Just a small mood board containing images that will help in my design of the Snow Queen and textured backgrounds for my part of the animation. I want to do an ink reveal on parchment like paper to fit the traditional Japanese theme and to give a bit of depth to my piece.

Inspiration 2

Fantasia - The Rite Of Spring is an influence we were thinking of what the movement and design can be incorporated to the design of Yoki Onna. the movement is very fluid and it suits the character as she is a geisha/demon that lures men to their deaths. 

Project Brief

For our group work, I've decided to work on the Snow Queen project. From Rebecca's pitch I could really visualize the Japanese Legend; Yuki Onna and I'm really interested in using the visual styles that go along with this project.

Inspiration

As i am doing the first 23 seconds to the introduction to 'Snow Queen', i was influenced by the 'Mulan' film introduction. This type of style is what i want the introduction of our project to be like.
