Toon Boom
We looked at animating a ball bounce in Toon Boom, a programme similar to Flash that I've used before in the past.
We started off drawing an arc and marking along it where we would draw the ball bouncing.
We then started to draw the ball and changing it's shape following the principles of animation.
A short video of the ball jumping. I was proud I managed to use this programme and make a really short clip. It was quite easy to use and it wasn't that difficult to get the basics done. I might consider using this programme for my Time Based Narrative Unit.
These are screen grabs of tests I did which involved rotating a camera around the central sphere. Each of the spheres were given a coloured texture called a lambert. At first it was quite difficult to pick up and understand the instructions to make the motion camera to rotate around it, but eventually I managed to find out how to work it and took these shots. For some reason my small clip render doesn't work so had to present them in this format. It was quite difficult trying to learn this programme and I probably would have fully appreciated it more if we didn't have or TBN to work on as well. Overall, it was fun learning the basics, but I'm not it's a programme I'll be using for further animation projects.

After Effects Test
Got to grips with the basics of After Effects by animating a continuous cycle of a man running. At first the programme and features seemed intimidating, but after pre-composing the layers of the running man together, it was easy to make a cycle.
